Brand new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 alloy snaps, quality issue?

Well, Bajaj was always known to manufacture budget friendly motorcycles in the Indian market. With cheaper cost of ownership, it is a known fact that quality of parts used on Bajaj motorcycles were not the best in the industry.
Now, a recent accident on Bajaj’s flagship motorcycle is creating quite a stir on social media.
An owner of the Pulsar RS200, Mr. Mohsin Patel & his wife have met with an accident which they claim is due to poor quality of parts used by Bajaj.
What happened:
  • Mohsin & his wife were riding on the Pulsar RS200 which is 2 months old
  • Mohsin applied the front brakes of the motorcycle
  • This lead to the alloy wheel breaking apart leading to an accident
You can see in the images below that the rim which holds the tyre is intact, but the alloy wheel spokes have cracked & broken apart leading to a front-end crash. All the spokes have snapped at almost the same point.
This particular model was not the ABS equipped version.
If there is some quality concern, this is a serious issue & many other Bajaj Pulsar RS200 owners will seek some response from the company.
Bajaj Auto hasn’t released any official statement on this yet.
