Honda BR-V compact-SUV to get 1.8L petrol motor

Honda BR-V compact-SUV to get 1.8L petrol motor

Honda will reveal the Brio-based BR-V crossover on August 20th at the Indonesian motor show.
Now, an interesting detail has emerged on the internet, which says that the BR-V would also get a 1.8L i-VTEC petrol motor apart from the 1.5L i-VTEC & i-DTEC motors.
This motor will be shared with the HR-V & produces around 139 PS of power and 169 Nm of torque.
The BR-V will get an option of 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearboxes.
Also, the BR-V will be a 7-seater SUV which hints that the pricing would demand a noticeable premium over competitors who are 5-seater SUVs.
Features revealed in the sketches:
3-row configuration, 7-seater
Projector headlamps
Round fog lamps
Chrome surround for fog lamps
Chrome front grille
Silver front skid plate
Body cladding around the entire car
Flared wheel arches
Diamond cut alloy wheels
Chrome door handles
LED turn indicators on ORVMs
Silver roof rails
Bold crease lines on the side profile
Roof spoiler
Rear silver skid plate
C-shaped tail lamp
Chrome number plate garnish on the bootlid
Wheelbase of 2,652mm
Although based on the Brio, the design language inside-out will be significantly different. There will be plenty of not-so-visible part sharing for cost benefits, but the new SUV will have a redesigned skin to stand out compared to the Brio, Amaze & Mobilio.
