Renault Kwid spotted testing in Chennai

The Renault Kwid has been spotted testing out in the open, around Chennai in India.
The Kwid is slated for a market debut around the festive season this year, and will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto & Hyundai Eon.
What looks like a baby-SUV or say a baby-Duster, the Kwid measures 3.68 mm in length. The Kwid has a very healthy ground clearance of 180mm, which is SUV-class.
Powered by a 800cc, petrol motor, the Kwid will feature the best-in-class fuel efficiency. Powering the Kwid would be a petrol motor which features 4-valves per cylinder and gets twin-cams. Future engine options could be a 1.0L units codenamed as the BR10. The Kwid will also get an AMT gearbox. The engine is expected to produce up to 57 BHP of power which will make it the most powerful in the segment.
The small engine makes full use of the small engine bay, and looks pretty tightly placed. Renault has invested a lot in the development of this engine, almost half the cost of the development of the Kwid project.
