Volvo plans Polestar performance sub-brand for India

Maruti Suzuki has silently killed the Ritz hatchback.
India’s largest car manufacturer has silently discontinued the Ritz from the Indian market and is currently available only for the commercial segment till stocks last. Production has been stopped & this is a final goodbye to the Ritz.
Launched in 2009, the Ritz was not really the best looking product available in the segment, and never really managed to be a runaway success. Thanks to the success of the new Celerio, the Ritz was discontinued globally in 2014, while here in India, this action reflects now.
The Ritz was available in competent 1.2L K-series petrol & 1.3L, DDiS diesel engines. An automatic variant was also available coupled to the petrol motor.
Even towards the end, the Ritz managed a respectable sales number well over 1,000 units / month.
