2016 Toyota Prius reveals all-new body style

The next-generation Toyota Prius has been spotted testing, and this time, even without camouflage.
This 2016 model of the Prius looks much more like a full sized sedan rather than the notchback like design of the current model.
Codenamed as the 690A, the new Prius will have thermal efficiency of 40%, which is highest for a mass market product. The current model has thermal efficiency of 38.5%.
The new model will be based on TNGA platform which will result in 20% weight saving and also, fuel efficiency will improve by 8-10%.
The new Prius will make use of new nickel-metal hydride & lithium-ion batteries.

  • Thin but wide front air dam
  • 5-spoke alloy wheels
  • Blackened B & C pillar for floating roof effect
  • Sharkfin antenna
  • Bold crease lines on the rear quarter
  • Conventional tail lamp setup, with LED probably
The new Prius is expected to be revealed at the Frankfurt motor show in the coming months.
