India-bound Honda BR-V – THIS IS IT!

Codenamed as the 2SJ, Honda’s upcoming compact-SUV for India, the BR-V has been caught completely undisguised ahead of its global debut tomorrow at the GIIAS 2015 show.
First things first, the BR-V looks very good & maintains a good distance in the design language compared to the Brio, Mobilio & Amaze.
Powering the BR-V would be the same 1.5L i-VTEC petrol & i-DTEC diesel motors which are seen on the likes of the Honda City. However, the BR-V would get 6-speed manual transmissions on both the powerplants with optimised ratios. This will result in better performance & higher fuel efficiency.
A 1.8L petrol motor is also being rumoured, but we don’t think it will make it to India anyway.
The BR-V will also get a segment-first CVT automatic gearbox. Matched to the petrol motor, this CVT gearbox will be an all-new compact unit developed specifically for the BR-V.
Features:
  • Massive chrome grille
  • Projector headlamp with LED DRL
  • Round fog lamp with chrome accent
  • Black plastic body cladding
  • Silver roof rails
  • Body crease lines similar to Mobilio
  • Similar to Mobilio 2nd row window sill
  • Diamond cut alloy wheels
  • Dual-tone interiors
  • Wrap-around tail lamps
  • Rear spoiler
  • Turn indicators on ORVM
  • Chrome door handle
  • 7-Seater
Honda has already revealed that the interiors would be different compared to the Brio / Mobilio. Well, we’ll know what’s inside tomorrow.
