Next-gen Hyundai Elantra officially previewed

Hyundai has officially released a rendering image of the next-generation Elantra sedan leaving far less to our imagination. The new model could be revealed at the Frankfurt motor show or the Los Angeles auto show.
The production-spec model is expected to look very similar to this rendering image & test vehicles spotted do match up to the overall body style.
There are not much details available at the moment about the technical specifications, but the new Elantra is rumoured to get a 1.6L turbo-petrol motor producing 175 BHP of power matched to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A new 1.7L turbo-diesel motor is also being considered.
The design language is far more mature compared to the current Elantra on sale here in India.
Changes:
  • New hexagonal front grille
  • Horizontal chrome slats in the grille
  • Sharp crease lines on bonnet
  • Bold waistline
  • Chrome weather strip
  • Chrome accents for fog lamps
  • Sleek headlamps with projectors
  • Blacked out B-pillar
