Skoda Fabia coming back to India

Skoda Fabia coming back to India

Skoda has been in the Indian market for 15 years. However, the brand is still struggling to capture 1% market share.
In recent times, the brand claims that they have managed to increase customer retention & reduce grievances. In the next two – three years, Skoda is hoping to bump up their market share to around 2%.
For this, the brand needs to deliver higher volumes. And for volumes, Skoda is now planning to revive the Fabia hatchback.
Skoda will not introduce the Fabia as a low-cost, aggressively priced hatchback. The brand now wants to offer premium products & will demand premium pricing. The Fabia will rival the likes of Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i20 & the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YRA.
Expect the new generation Fabia to be revealed at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo & the launch later next year.
The Fabia is Skoda’s best selling model globally, and was appreciated by customers here in India. However, it was much ahead of its time when premium hatchbacks did not really have any significant buyer market.
