2016 Maruti Suzuki Baleno is now production ready

So, the biggest news in this article is that Maruti Suzuki is bringing back the ‘Baleno’ nameplate in India.
Although the Baleno brand did not create quite a stir in the sedan segment a decade ago, this time, in a premium hatchback avatar, Maruti Suzuki is confident that the product will do much better.
Codenamed as the YRA, previous reports which claimed that it could be called the Fronx are now rubbished. The Baleno badge on the tailgate validates this too.
Suzuki will reveal the production-version at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but the real deal, which will be built in India has already been spotted at the Maruti Suzuki factory in Northern India.
In India, the Baleno / YRA will be powered by a 1.2L, K-Series petrol motor & a 1.3L, DDiS diesel motor. The diesel version could come equipped with the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) right from the start.
The YRA will be the widest, longest & lightest in the B2 segment. Without any doubts, we expect Maruti Suzuki to offer best-in-class mileage on the YRA, around 28 kmpl on the diesel model since the upcoming Honda Jazz delivers 27.3 kmpl.
The YRA is expected to go on sale here in India in the coming months. It will be sold via the premium Nexa dealerships.
