Ford EcoSport facelift coming soon, in 2015 itself

Ford has revealed that they will surely introduce the EcoSport facelift in India this calendar year itself.
India’s 1st ever compact-SUV in the sub-4 metre category, the EcoSport is long due for a revamp with competition heating up. The launch was ideally expected to happen by now, but with new models such as the Figo & Figo Aspire, the timelines for the EcoSport had to be pushed forward.
While previous rumours suggested that Ford might introduce the facelift version of the EcoSport without a tailgate mounted spare wheel, latest reports reveal that this might not happen.
Reason?
The EcoSport is already compact on the inside. Moving the spare wheel in the boot would compromise space.
With the spare wheel moved inside, the EcoSport might look more hatchback-like, taking away the rugged look of an SUV thanks to the externally mounted unit
What’s interesting, is that this new Figo Aspire compact-sedan shares the same diesel engine with the EcoSport & Fiesta. However, the latest revisions on the engine plonked in the Figo Aspire helps it produce 100 PS of power & 215 Nm of torque.
Now, considering that this engine will also make its way to the EcoSport on the facelift model, the result would be an 11% increase in power & 5% increase in torque from the same TDCi motor.
Changes to the EcoSport facelift includes:
New alloy wheels,
Colour display for SYNC infotainment
MyFord connectivity
Chrome garnish on dials
Turn indicator stalks moved to the right, from current left position
Better NVH
Slightly revised dashboard
Better quality interior plastics
Tweaked suspension settings
Ride height lowered by 10mm
Also, in 2015, Ford will launch the all-new Endeavour SUV in India which will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner & the upcoming Chevrolet Trailblazer.
