RE60 for personal use under Rs. 2 lakh being considered

Seems like Bajaj still hasn’t given up on the RE60 project.
Although the quadricycle category was approved, the RE60 is still not being allowed for commercial sale. Even with these hurdles in place, the brand is now considering introducing the RE60 in the passenger car space.
A quadricycle is a 4-seater, 4-wheeled vehicle primarily used for commercial application bridging the gap between an autorickshaw & a full size taxi.
Bajaj if does get this sorted, the RE60 for the passenger market could be priced between Rs. 1.5 – 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
The RE60 will be powered by a 216cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency could be in the range of 35 kmpl for the petrol-only model. Also, the RE60 could run for up to 40 km on one kg of CNG.
