Renault Duster facelift continues testing in India

The first mover in the segment, Renault Duster is now facing the heat with increasing competition. New models such as the Hyundai Creta & Maruti Suzuki S-Cross have completely overshadowed this French product, and the brand is now working on a facelift model for the immediate future.
The Duster facelift has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian soil, and we expect a market debut in the coming months.
Changes expected:
  • New front fascia
  • New interior trim
  • New dashboard
  • New alloy wheels
  • New LED tail lamp
  • New headlamp
  • New rear bumper
  • New roof rails
Powering the Duster facelift will be the same powertrains. A 1.5L dCi diesel with 85 PS, 1.5L dCi diesel with 110 PS & a 1.6L petrol with 102 PS. Reports suggest a new 1.2L TCe petrol motor capable of 123.3 BHP could also be introduced. But it is doubtful if this smaller engine would make it to Indian shores.
Also, previous reports suggested that Renault could introduce a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox matched to the diesel motor. At the Frankfurt motor show, Renault also revealed an Easy-R AMT matched to the petrol motor. The possibility of an automatic on the Indian Duster is still unknown.
The new Duster will continue with 4×4 & 4×2 layout.
