Borgward BX7 SUV being planned for India

German brand Borgward is looking at entering the Indian automotive space, and soon.
Making a comeback globally, this German-Chinese company will be launching a new car in 50 years. In 2016, this new product could also be entering the Indian market.
The product in question here is the new BX7 SUV which was revealed recently.
The brand is committed to the Indian debut and could even partner with Foton, who have a plant near Pune which can be utilised for local assembly.
The problem however is that the BX7 SUV will be powered by a 222 BHP, 2.0L, turbo petrol engine, and no diesel. This will surely be a deterrent. Pricing will be in the range of Rs. 25 – 30 lakh, which will slot it against the luxury brands such as Audi, BMW & Mercedes-Benz.
Borgward will also introduce 2 new models every year & aims to have a complete product line-up in the coming years.
Will Borgward be able to hit the Indian streets? Would you be interested in buying one?
