India-bound Suzuki Ignis revealed, production ready

Ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki has revealed the production ready version of the iM-4 compact crossover which will be called ‘Ignis’.
The Ignis is expected to hit Indian showrooms as well, sometime next year, as Maruti Suzuki has revealed that they will introduce all global models in India moving forward. Only the Japan specific Kei Cars will not make it here.
The production ready Ignis / iM-4 looks pretty much identical to the concept version save for the headlamps, tail lamps, ORVM & alloy wheels; which is a standard change during the transition of concept to production ready.
The iM-4 is a compact-SUV measuring just 3.7 metres in length. This will make it much smaller in size compared to the Ford EcoSport. Also, it would look more like a hatchback on stills rather than a SUV.
Powering the Ignis could be a 1.0L, 3-cylinder BoosterJet petrol, 1.2L DualJet petrol & a 1.3L, DDiS diesel motor.
When launched, the Ignis will slot in below the upcoming YBA compact-SUV.
In terms of rivals, the Ignis will fight the likes of Mahindra S101.
