Overpriced Maruti Suzuki S-Cross being sold at discounts

When Maruti Suzuki launched the S-Cross crossover in India priced between Rs. 8.34 – 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom), many questioned the brands ambitious pricing strategy.
Maruti Suzuki hasn’t really been lucky in selling cars over Rs. 10 lakh and this seems to continue even with the S-Cross.
Barely 2 months into the market, the S-Cross is currently being sold by dealers with a discount of Rs. 1 lakh or more. This clearly hints that dealer inventory is piling up & the car is not moving out of showrooms.
Another reason for this is the Hyundai Creta, which at almost similar (slightly higher) price offers much more everything.
How long do you think the S-Cross will survive in the Indian market? Will Maruti Suzuki be able to create a premium aura around the brand anytime soon?
